I hear about your anxiety for the future everyday. We face immense challenges as a society, not least of which being that my children are looking at a lower standard of living than I had. We need government that will correct this, more than ever.
Standing for a strong Alberta and a united Canada.
Instead, we have Danielle Smith and her unseemly toadying to Donald Trump while selling out our country and our province.
At this time, I’m incredibly grateful that Naheed Nenshi, Canada’s best political communicator, is speaking up for a strong Alberta in a united Canada. Watch him here as he calls out Smith’s failure to fight for us.
Is Naheed making a difference? Yes, yes he is. One example is that even Calgary Herald columnist Don Braid walked back his previous unstinting support of Danielle Smith.
Defending public education.
Closer to home, Albertans face zero relief in our affordability struggles. Danielle Smith’s underfunding of education leaves education workers especially vulnerable. In particular, educational assistants help students with higher needs participate fully in public education, and their pay is shockingly low. The union representing these workers, CUPE is organizing job action across the province to get their workers a fair deal. See Naheed supporting the pickets in Fort McMurray here.
Every single child in this province deserves a life of dignity, and that starts with a great public education. - Naheed Nenshi

Finally, a great big thank you.
Thank you for putting up with all of my emails in December asking for donations to the Alberta NDP. I’m so grateful that you’ve responded (and very few of you unsubscribed). We raised enough money that we can pay for social media, outreach resources, and stay in front of Calgary-Elbow voters. We met our fundraising goals, and it’s all because of you.
Thank you.
